Brian Walters
Founder & Attorney
Brian Walters is the founding attorney of Walters West APC. His practice includes civil litigation and appeals, probate and trust litigation, alternative dispute resolution, insurance coverage, employment, transactional matters, regulatory compliance, healthcare, intellectual property, religious organizations and religious freedom, real estate, environmental and land use, corporate governance, privacy and cybersecurity, entertainment, constitutional law, higher education, and outside general counsel services.
Before founding Walters West APC in 2024, Brian served for more than a decade as General Counsel and a senior executive for public and private companies across diverse industries, including real estate, technology, healthcare, logistics, consumer goods, private equity, and financial services. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he represented Fortune 100 companies and other clients in commercial and business litigation, antitrust and unfair competition, class actions, regulatory and securities actions, and intellectual property disputes. His clients included leaders in technology, retail, entertainment, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare, insurance, accounting, and energy. He also served on a legal team representing a pro bono client that obtained a rarely granted writ of certiorari from the United States Supreme Court, ultimately leading to a Supreme Court victory.
Drawing on his extensive experience as both outside counsel and General Counsel, Brian has represented plaintiffs and defendants throughout his career and has advised clients on business transactions totaling more than $100 million, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, commercial real estate, buy-sell agreements, and corporate governance matters. He has also led internal investigations, cybersecurity incident response teams, and government inquiry response teams, enabling him to identify practical legal solutions often overlooked by other counsel.
Brian graduated magna cum laude from The George Washington University, becoming the first graduate of its joint Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Administration program. He earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, where he served as Chief Articles Editor of the UCLA Journal of Law & Technology and on the Moot Court Honors Program Executive Board. Prior to law school, he worked on Capitol Hill for both his Congressman and U.S. Senator.
An Eagle Scout, Brian was recognized as a 40 Under Forty Honoree by the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal and SCV Jaycees for exemplary professional and community contributions. In 2014, he was honored by the California State Assembly for his professional achievements and civic service.

COMMUNITY
Beyond his legal practice, Brian has an extensive record of community leadership, serving from 2009 to 2022 on the Governing Board of the Newhall School District and contributing to numerous nonprofit and educational organizations, including as co-founder and former Board Chair of the WiSH Education Foundation. He has also served on the boards of numerous organizations and is a frequent speaker.
Outside the office, Brian enjoys coaching youth sports, including basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse.

Lisa Dale
Attorney
Lisa Dale is an experienced civil litigator with a strong record of guiding cases from initial investigation through trial. She has represented defendants in complex matters involving products and premises liability, wrongful death, unfair business practices, dental malpractice, and environmental claims, and has also advocated for plaintiffs in premises liability, employment, and personal injury actions. Lisa brings substantial law‑and‑motion expertise, including winning summary judgment and adjudication motions in high‑exposure personal injury cases.
Lisa has practiced at Crockett & Associates and the Irvine office of Clausen Miller, P.C., handling a wide range of civil litigation for diverse clients. She is fluent in Spanish, enhancing her ability to serve clients and witnesses across communities.
Her combination of trial‑ready litigation experience, strong motion practice, and cross‑cultural communication skills makes her a trusted advocate for clients facing complex disputes.

IN MEMORIAM
Stephen A. West
Mentor to Brian Walters and the namesake of the West in Walters West APC, Stephen A. West attended the University of Chicago before earning his high school diploma from East High in Salt Lake. He enrolled at the University of Utah, but completed a law degree before obtaining his undergraduate degree in philosophy. This perplexes well-meaning editors, who invariably switch the sequence of his degrees to make them appear correct.
Early in his career he worked as a law clerk in the federal district court of Judge A. Sherman Christensen. For a time he practiced law in Salt Lake City, but in 1967 he relocated to Washington, D.C., where he spent much of his professional life with the Marriott Corporation in Bethesda, Maryland. At the time of his retirement from Marriott in 1994, he was senior vice president and general counsel. Before finally settling in Salt Lake, eighteen years of retirement were spent in Logan, Utah.
Over the years, Mr. West served on the advisory boards of Southern Virginia University and Utah State University. He also served on the Leadership Council of the Brigham Young University Museum of Art.
Mr. West passed away in 2016, but his legacy continues.
